Getting Out of Iowa Will Be Easier & Faster After July 1

Q. What are the best things that come out of Iowa?
A. I-29, I-35, and I-80.

I-29.png As a frequent traveler THROUGH Iowa on I-29 to Topeka, Kansas City, and Wichita, I took heart from today's Des Moines Register that as of July 1, 2005, you and I will be able to drive 70 mph on rural Interstate highways in the land of corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, tree, corn, corn, corn, corn, corn as comedian Heywood Banks sings.I-35.png

Here's the blessed news from the Register, via their daily email newsletter:

Hit the gas: Vilsack says he'll sign 70 mph
speed bill --

Motorists will be able to drive faster on Iowa’s
interstate highways beginning

July 1. Gov. Tom Vilsack today said he'll sign

a bill that increases the speed limit to 70 mph.
