The High Cost of the Bush Administration and John Thune Just Got Higher

Yes, high gas prices made me take a quick break from my hiatus.  Remember those wonderful Thune for Senate spots featuring Cecilia Steen of Interior, SD blaming Sen. Tom Daschle for those horrible gasoline prices last fall?  Wow, they were like $1.60 a gallon!  Now, look at all that Sen. John Thune has done to help lower prices!  Where's Cecilia now about how tough life is on the ranch?

With the war in Iraq continuing and Americans now dying so Iraqis can possibly ban women from voting or participating in civil affairs in the country, and historically high fuel prices, I think we have reached the point where the Bush Administration is too expensive for the U.S. of A.  Thus, as good consumers, I think we should now shop at a different Administration.  Anyone for President Target?  President K-Mart?  President Costco?  President Dollar General?  President Dollar Store?  Me?  I voted to shop at President Nader.

Ok, I'm going back to hiatus-land now. Talk amongst yourselves until I get back full time.

BTW, I loved the Hot Dog Guy photo!  (see below)

I can't recall what Cecilia Steen of Interior said....I just remember that she was blaming Senator Daschle for their problems...well...if it was the gas prices....I too would like to hear from her now.

Holy Cow! I hate to admit it, but I’m just not smart enough to figure this out….we all know that the gas prices are higher than they have ever been and are probably going higher….at the same time MSNBC is reporting that the oil companies are having the best profit year they have ever had….having huge increases in profit. And at the same time, it seems to me that most people don’t care…oh they complain a little bit about it…but where is the outcry about oil companies making huge profits while we are paying outrageous prices?

The newspapers and the courts are bombarded with complaints of Wal-mart’s prices being too low….and because of that they drive out competitors and don’t pay their help a decent wage. There is a huge outcry about Wal-mart. But then we pay huge jacked up gas prices and there is an outcry from just a few people. I just don’t understand it.

My wife owns a business in a small town. If we all of a sudden jacked our prices 100% and then drove around the next day with a new BMW with the extra profit…why we would be run out of town! But in all honesty….we complain but I think nobody really cares about the obscene oil company profits. There isn’t any outcry….I guess we just accept it as normal business practices.

As I stated, I’m just not smart enough to figure this out

Wow--Glad to hear you are going back on hiatus to deal with your own failures. I haven't heard that John Thune's daughters are spending the summer at JDC & taking drugs. Oh I forgot, they were raised with solid values.

Isn't it nice to see someone take a dig at personal family issues. This BTYC cannot say anything in response to the high cost of gas, just be nasty about something personal. Excuse me....who has christian values? Not BTYC.

to BTCY I do hope that your life remains perfect--as you would be the first and only. Sharing personal struggles takes guts, as well as a willingness to admit imperfections--in more simpler terms being human--try it!

Yeah, just let me add to the general statement of truth - BTYC is a sleezeball. Agreed?!

To BTYC, you sound just like all the ultra conservative republicans, quick to take aim at somebody elses family problems. It isn't too late for the Thune girls to get themselves in trouble. It can happen at any time. I really have doubts about about these christian families, I feel the husband and father has complete rule and control and the rest of the familie's opinions don't count. My ex-husband was that way. Our girls and I weren't allowed to have an opinion of our own.

How are the gas prices the fault of Thune or Bush?
How would Kerry and Daschle have kept gas prices in check?

No speculation please stick to facts!
August 19, 2005 | Unregistered CommenterIndependent
The facts are that Thune campaigned and had a West River gal state that the high gas prices were hurting her ranch and it was Daschle's fault. How was it Daschle's fault that gas prices were $1.80 last summer? It wasn't, but what is good for the goose is good for the gander thus $2.55 a gallon gasoline is now Thune's fault this summer since he is the Senator!
