An Odd But Serious Suggestion: Send Janklow to New Orleans to Help with Katrina

I have an odd but serious suggestion for President George W. Bush in trying to handle the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe in the Gulf States: Send former South Dakota Governor Bill Janklow to help coordinate clean up and disaster efforts.

Yes, I'm serious.

Or at least put him in charge of some part of the rescue, recovery, or humanitarian efforts.

It sounds like the politicians, bureaucrats, relief workers, and everyone concerned needs a name-takin', butt-kickin' take charge kind of guy who knows a thing or two about getting services to people in tough situations.  Say what you will about Janklow, but the guy shines in natural disasters and emergencies.

Bill has proven himself in these types of circumstances and has a practical compassion that gets things done.

President Bush, send Janklow to New Orleans and you'll start seeing results.

If Bush does send him make sure you let all the bikers on they way there know he is commin so they can get the hell out of his way.
Make sure to give bill some extra OJ and possibly have the highway Departments make the stop signs 50% larger so he can see them while driving 100+ MPH...
