Johnson says he's not opposed to legalizing marijuana for medical purposes
Sen. Tim Johnson replied to Eddie's letter about his position on medical marijuana. Read it here. While he made it clear that he opposes legalization of marijuana for the general public, he said he is in support of exploring the legalization for medical purposes.
Wonder how long before the MSM picks up this worthwhile gem.
(Golly, I love blogs.)

Anyone who reads this is invited to answer the questions.
1. Do you think that the people who use marijuana medically are lying about their assertions that it works for them, and that many have tried prescriptive medicines and found that they don't work, or that they have serious adverse side-effects?
2. What, exactly, is the danger to society in adult (or juvenile, with parental involvement) use of marijuana under the guidance of a doctor?
3. If you admit that marijuana is beneficial to some people, in some circumstances, then why would you not advocate the government's acceptance of its own medical studies (the 1999 Institutes of Medicine study, for one of many)? Why do you think the government systematically denies permission for independent reputable studies on marijuana's medical efficacy?
4. Can you present even one benefit from marijuana prohibition?
My colleague posted the story on MM. He can responde if he wants. I have better things to do.
