NVB & DT: Pouring Money and Water Down a Hole

My fellow Progressives, The Viking at Dakota Today and Dr. Pork Pie at the Northen Valley Beacon, have excellent posts on the Homestake Mine situation and its dwindling chances as a research facility as water fills it.

It seems to me--and to my boys Doug and David--that if you're going to spend $20M for a house with a big hole in the ground with taxpayer dollars, maybe you should keep the basement from flooding so you can use it for company and scientific research.

Here are the Must Read posts:

Northern Valley Beacon That whooshing sound is Homestake being flushed out of contention

Dakota Today ***Water, water, and the pumps are shutoff. Smells of Republican management.

George Hearst, who certainly was no mambypampby liberal, would never have let this happen under his watch.
