Thune Blames Iraqi Leaders for Iraq's Problems

Sen. John Thune to Iraq: It's Your Problem, Fix It!
I seem to remember a quote from former Secretary of State Colin Powell about the Pottery Barn rule regarding Iraq: if you break it, you pay for it.

According to today's Argus Leader, jet-setting Senator John Randolph Thune is in Iraq again telling the Iraqis, basically, they have to fix the mess that the Bush Administration created in their country.  An excerpt:

Thune joins call for Iraq to establish stability

Sen. John Thune, a bipartisan Congressional delegation and three governors pressed the case to Iraqi officials Saturday in Baghdad that it is imperative Iraq form a government and functional national security forces before U.S. voters lose all patience with the military presence there. At the same time in Sioux Falls, Sen. Tim Johnson heard from veterans - including several who had returned from Iraq - who said they received inadequate care from the Department of Veterans Affairs in dealing with the psychological wounds of combat and problems involved in returning from a war zone to civilian life. Thune made his second trip to Iraq in about a year. In addition to Iraqi officials, he met with U.S. troops, including some active duty Army soldiers from South Dakota, and today he plans to meet with front line soldiers who do the house-to-house patrols and drive the dangerous streets of Baghdad.

I mean, really, John!  The US essentially destroys Iraq's infrastructure in two wars, fails to quell the insurgency that its invasion created, fails to restore services, fails to provide for security for Iraqis to lead something approaching normal lives, and then he has the freakin' balls to go to their capital and blame Iraqi leaders?  I'm surprised you didn't also blame Tom Daschle in all this.  I'm sure Sibby will blame Chad Schuldt and Kool-Aid for Iraq's problems, not President George W. Bush.

Talk about surreal--and obscene.

Meanwhile, our worthwhile U.S. Senator, Tim Johnson, is trying to help clean up the physical and emotional mess this ill-thought out war is having on our own troops.

Troops. Schmoops. What are a few crybaby "emotionally damaged" and physically crippled and burned soldiers when you have a military base built on top of the Last Oil Left In The World.

We're gonna set up an oil mall in the desert, where Japan and Germany and France and Luxembourg and everywhere send their Oil Ministers to pick up their nations' weekly quarts of oil at $7,000,000 a qt.

Each American will then receive a check for $20,000 each month. We'll all kick back and watch reruns of "Traffic" and "The China Syndrome".

Troops? Screw the troops. If they weren't Marines, they'd be real estate salesmen living in trailer courts.
