Breaking: mysiouxfalls.com to Ride Again! Sort of, Next Year

I received the following email from Joe Prostrollo today concerning a relaunch of the son of siouxfallsnews.com.

Hope the Christmas Season finds you and the family well.    I wanted to bring you up to speed on the news website.  Were there mistakes made, you bet and I take full responsibility for them all.  I don’t think I would try to run a newsroom with a full staff of 13 people without the proper funding.  I warned the bodies involved that the breakeven point wouldn’t come until 2008 but they didn’t want to hear that.  Plus, I really needed to listen to the people in finance.  I’m a news hound, I don’t understand that business stuff.  But, be that as it may …………….The site is coming back!   It is being re-tooled by a programming team from DSU.  It will be an online newspaper with video sprinkled throughout the site.

It will be a hybrid of the Argus and KELO TV.  It will look great and people won’t be shocked by a video and audio coming on the minute to long on to the site.   The site will be called SiouxEmpireNews.com  Online!  News, weather, sports, business, politics, and entertainment.

I would like SD Watch to be a featured link each day along with Pat Power’s… .  The site will be introduced after the 1st of the year.

As for advertisers……….21 of the 42 that we had informs us they will be back on the site.  That is good to hear.

Joe Prostrollo

Joe says Shawn Cable will not be involved in this iteration of the site.  He also hopes that this backer won’t shy away from being named.

I’m not getting paid anything to be on Joe’s new site.

I hope the new venture is successful.  The more voices and perspectives the better.

Who's this team from DSU that's retooling the site? I thought I was pretty in the know about these types of projects on campus, but apparently not!
