Dakota Today: Thanks to the Classy Viking

Doug “The Viking” Wiken at the granddaddy, Dakota Today, has a very interesting and very classy post about KELOLAND’s Blogzilla site that features some of us in the local blogosphere.

Doug understands that KELOLAND’s addition of citizen journalists/bloggers to its already information rich site is a watershed event in the South Dakota blogosphere and in local news gathering.

Also, Dakota Today got passed over in the initial selection of sites by KELOLAND.  I think this is extremely unfortunate, as Doug brings a lot of understanding about the history of the state, independent thought, and humor to his blog.  That he would be this gracious and classy in his analysis when he wasn’t included is a testament to the kind of person Doug is.  I hope KELOLAND adds Doug’s blog in the 2.0 version of the project.

So, go read Doug’s post about all this for some independent insight into the project.

I didn't find his initial response to one of your posts to be all that classy:

"Good to see that KELO finally made their TV ads true. The Black and White Steve Hemmingsen "Blogging" ad has mentioned "Start Blogging" at Keloland for perhaps several months, but there never seemed any option there to actually do it.

Be gentle and don't harass the Bush administration. Keloland is mighty prissy about what one can say about Republicans such as the White House Window Peepers that were so very interested in Clinton's penis and now Hillary's cleavage.

Of course, commenters will be allowed to call Democrats any names they please.

Congratulations to you and PP and good luck."

And of couse, now you have Sibson in a lather as well.

But I guess if a far lefter and a far righter are accusing us of bias, we must be doing things right.

Perhaps, but your conclusion does not necessarily follow your facts. I guess if you don't like KELO being complimented, I could waste some time making you happier, but I probably just won't bother.

Moser, Your perception of me as a far lefter says more about your perspective than mine. Now, I'll have to go check on the condition of Sibby's lather.

Well it's a pretty new hybrid, so I'll wait and watch before commenting in detail. At least KELO seems to be recognizing what both of you known for a long time now. The more you link to other sites, the better the internet and the blogosphere works for everyone. But "watershed?" Eh... time will tell.
