SDW @ KELOLAND.com: Making Sense of Bush's Nonsense
The following is my latest posting on KELOLAND.com:
An excerpt:
… But the logic of Pres. Bush’s speech—or perhaps illogic—is what struck me.He seemed to say that The Surge has worked so well—particularly in Anbar Province—which I’m guessing is the Mississippi of Iraq—that we need to stop it.
So, if a little troops would do a little good then it would seem a lot of troops would do a lot of good. But in Bushian Logic (Illogic?), the premise seems to be that a little troops have done a little good so no troops would do a lot of good. (I’m not calling for more US troops in Iraq, I think they should all leave NOW, as my candidate for President, John Edwards noted in his commercial that aired on MSNBC after the Democrat’s response to Pres. Bush.)
Pres. Bush better hope that Gen. David Petreaus (who I believe was in HBO’s series, Rome, as a Roman general who tried to bugger Ceasar Augustus in the bathhouse ala Sen. Larry Craig at the Minneapolis Airport) never ever changes his view of the “success” of the war. He’s bragged up The General’s glowing “analysis” to almost cartoonish proportions… .

He seemed to say that The Surge has worked so well—particularly in Anbar Province—which I’m guessing is the Mississippi of Iraq—that we need to stop it.
