While mysiouxfalls.com is now just a fond Internets memory, Joe Prostrollo is back in the news business with
Sioux Empire News Online, a slimmed down version of his old site.
I think the site is still a work in progress as the right “ear” is still devoid of information or advertising.
I’m also surprised that there was no RSS feed that I could find. Let’s hope that is coming.
In an editorial dated January 10, 2008, Joe makes a candid admission about his former venture, MySiouxFalls.com (and remember those days of wonderment about meteorologist Shawn Cable?):
I’m not sure I understand fully what I was getting into until the company was formed. I have to be frank with you, down deep I knew I was in trouble from day 1 and I have a hunch most of the employees knew that too. But, be that as it may, I have a lot of respect for anyone who is willing to give a “start up” a shot. The one thing I did when I hired anyone was to ask the question “are you sure this is what you want?” When they said yes, the train left the station. It was just a matter of time when it left the tracks.
Hopefully, this “lite” version will make a go of things.
Good luck, Joe!
