Chris "Lou Grant" Lien to Stephanie "Mary Richards" Herseth: "You've Got Spunk. I Really Hate That In A Person"
My cartoonist buddy Scott Ehrisman took a little idea of mine concerning Chris Lien’s supporters’ tantrum over at SD War College that King Chris’ literary masterwork of a press release about Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin didn’t receive any SDMSM play.
WAH!
I thought it was kind of reminiscent of Herseth Sandlin as the nice, cute, smart, perky Mary Richards from the old Mary Tyler Moore show and her boss, gruff old Lou Grant.
Anyway, this is what Scott came up with. I think it’s pretty funny.

I sounds like the Democrats are starting to get a little uneasy about the Republican candidate looking to unseat Herseth-Sandlin. If they didn't think he was a threat, they wouldn't be talking about him!
Yup, I'm sure Stephanie is quaking in her high heels over facing King Chris this fall. I'm guessing he does maybe five points better than Bruce What's His Name did in 2006.
If people didn't talk about their political opponents, there wouldn't be a blogosphere, Lien Fan.
GREAT gag and great catch. Herseth-Sanlin does seem real Mary Tyler-Moore like. She'll toss her victory cap up in the air on election night, no doubt.
Does her husband (Sandlin) live in SD? I would like to know.
Max Sandlin lives in Brookings when his wife is there, just like Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Thune live in Sioux Falls when their husbands are there. The rest of the time, all of them live in D.C. - just like every other state's representatives live. Duh.
Bruce what's his name flooded the reservations with campaign yard signs, really turned many people off by over whelming very town, village etc with them. What is Chris's stand on Veterans, can he help, Requests to Stephanies aides seemed to fall on deaf or ignored ears
