From the SD Democratic Party:

The South Dakota Democratic Party conducted its final round of Congressional District Delegate and Alternate selection Saturday in Pierre, with about 400 attending at the Pierre Senior Center.  This was the second step following the election March 8 of Legislative District Delegates and Alternates in each of the state’s 35 legislative districts.

The names elected Saturday will appear below the names of their respective presidential candidates on the June 3 primary ballot.  The popular vote will determine which delegates and alternates become activated to represent their state party at the Democratic National Convention Aug. 25-28 in Denver.

Alternates for Sen. Barack Obama

Delegates for Sen. Hillary Clinton

The final selection of Democratic National Convention delegates will be conducted June 28 at the S.D. Democratic Party State Convention in Oacoma.  The SDDP State Central Committee will elect the final six delegate and one alternate positions, which will bring the total to 23 delegates and four alternates to attend the national convention.
