Pat Powers, Future Democrat?
Pat Powers over at The War College is getting treated, as he said, like a red-headed step child, at the SD Republican Convention in Oacoma.
Maybe Pat should be a Democrat. Seriously.
My party would love a smart, experienced, passionate person willing to get involved in the process. Plus, he wouldn't get treated like crap as a Democrat.
I stated my reasons why Pat should switch in the comments of his post. There's a re-alignment of the parties going on nationally and in South Dakota. It even sweeps up the Pat Powers in the party--people who are tolerant, independent, and willing to listen.
Pat, come on in. The water's fine.

If Pat shifts, he won't be the only one.
Yeh. Pat's stock is rising in the dead tree press. He dines with a Healy (SDEA division). He agrees with a position on a ballot issue, taken unanimously in April by the Democratic Party's State Central Committee. And he's a decent fellow to know. Why not? South Dakota Democrats are enjoying their first uptick in registration numbers in more than 20 years and (most importantly) the Cubs are on their best track to winning a national championship in 99 years, so maybe ...
Hey PP, sell a house today and give us a shout. Be glad to sign you up. Just remember that Squibby reportedly left our party to join your party. The air is much fresher over here.
