RSCC Commissioned Poll Shows Johnson Favored 2 to 1 Over "Other"

I can't tell you how I came to this information but suffice it to say I did.

It appears the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee had a reputable national polling company do a pre-SD primary poll to see how much they "want" and not necessary "need" to spend in South Dakota to challenge Sen. Tim Johnson.

The results?

Johnson is favored by 69% to "Other" 31%.

"Other" would be state Rep. Joel Dykstra, I'm presuming.

That's 2 to 1 folks.

I think you can pretty much pencil in Tim for yet another victory this fall. Republicans have minimized his chances for statewide elected office for over twenty years now.

Some Republicans whine. Tim just wins.

If surveyed, I'm one of the 31% that would fit under "Other", though certainly not for Dykstra.

I'm watching how Sen. Johnson votes in regards to Telecom Immunity/FISA on July 8th. Does he stand for "We The People" in regards to the Fourth Amendment or not?

Honestly, we need to elect better D's if they are willing to sacrifice our civil liberties. That or I need to get into a different party, because it lets me down.

Run Dusty against Tim he would at least get 34 percent of the vote.Of course Tim would leave him in the dust to.

I am also in the "other" category but I am all for Dykstra. He will be the change that South Dakota needs. If you ever get a chance to listen to him speak, it is obvious how influential he will be in the Senate. Johnson can only read something that has been written for him. How productive will that make him in committee and on the floor? Even before his brain bleed he was uneccessary. He has cosponsered over 100 bills in his terms and passed something like 5. He is not useful and does nothing for South Dakota. He cancels out almost every one of John Thunes votes. What kind of a voice does that give South Dakota??

I disagree with you John. If you venture over to

http://thomas.loc.gov/home/rollcallvotes.html

there are a number of times Sen. Johnson doesn't cancel out Thune's votes.

We don't need another Sen. Thune that blindly votes for whatever the Cheney/Bush regime wants. You see, I know he has no problem compromising civil liberties if that is what the big GOP bosses tell him. I just wish the Dems grew a spine.
