It's Back! Must Reads for 6/8/2008--Weight Watcers, a Barack Landslide?, Homes for Dogs, Why Hillary Lost, and BillO the JerkO

You know it, you love it, you can't live without it! Yes, SD Watch's Must Reads are back!

While life continues to be a little wilder than I like right now with work and some upcoming travel, I think I can at least periodically provide some Must Reads.

Let's get on with it, shall we!

SD MUST READS:

Drinking the Weight Watchers Kool-Aid.
07/06/08 22:22 from Blogging While Feminist / Plain(s)feminist
Now, I like Weight Watchers. Of the "diets" that are out there, WW is pretty clearly one of the best, and when I'm on it, I generally eat a lot more healthfully - lots of veggies and fruit and lean meats and dairy, and probably less of the...

  • Plain(s)Feminist writes a heartfelt post about the problems of losing weight and the stigma even Weight Watchers puts on its followers. Good writing and very insightful!
**Obama to win in a blowout in November? A fearless prediction
07/06/08 18:35 from Dakota Today
Below is a small part of an opinion article predicting a big win for Sen. Obama in the presidential race. For whatever it is worth, this guy also seems to suggest that McCain is the ideal symbol for the Death-Warmed Over Party as I thought...

  • Viking, I hope you are right but my playing around with the electoral map gives Barack a win this fall but in a close race.
Pawsitive Press
08/06/08 09:14 from ♥ In the Shelter of your Heart ♥
The big struggle for the small rescue is getting the word out. With limited funds, how do you let people know you are out there, and what you can offer the community. The press can be a great tool for recruiting fosters, finding adopters, a...

  • Here's my small attempt to help get the word out for a worthy cause.
OUT OF STATE MUST READS:

How She Came Undone
08/06/08 11:02 from Politics from Newser
Bill Clinton’s interfering tenacity and squabbling aides killed Hillary Clinton’s chances to win the White House, the New York Times eulogizes in an obituary of the once seemingly indestructible campaign...

  • Or, maybe voters just liked Obama more?
Moyers on O'Reilly: "Bill Is Not a Journalist, He's a Pugilist"
08/06/08 10:11 from mediabistro.com: TVNewser
On this scorching east coast weekend, things got plenty hot in Minneapolis, too. At the National Conference for Media Reform, O'Reilly Factor producer Porter Barry confronted PBS' Bill Moyers who delivered the keynote address to the conference...

  • Not to argue with Bill Moyers, but I thought O'Reilly was just an *sshole.

The true measure of ones intelligence is how much one listens and reads. When you do so you have more information to consider.
Writing and speaking can be done by anyone with a 3rd grade education(reflecting newspaper writing structure.) And is most often done by those who know little from the first two.
