Foster at the Convention: The Whole World World Is Watching!
By Barry Foster
Good morning from Denver.
Good morning from Denver.
This morning’s SD delegation meeting was very fun. Tom Daschle and Stephanie Herseth spoke to us about landmark conventions. This is going to be one of those nights and conventions that will be remembered for years to come. I figure I will have stories for the rest of my life. The theme was remember 1968.
I really have the feeling now the delegation and the rest of the delegates are all going in the same direction. Bill Walsh has laid out the challenge for SD to be the first to start the”whole world is watching” chant from the field tonight. It really puts it into perspective to realize that they probably are!

Yesterday I spent the morning with the New Democratic Network—NDN. I will not bore you with the details because yesterday was all about Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton, Bill Clinton. Wow, did he hit it out of the park.
It seemed like the theme was to assure not only the Democrats that Obama is ready for the job,but the rest of the country as well. Who better to send that message but the last President to be in office the last time things were greatfor this country. The electricity was unbelievable.

John Kerry really made me wonder if he had been that forceful while running for President if I would be here for his re-nomination convention. He was funny and spoke very plain. It was very refreshing to see him send that kind of message.
I was thinking last night after the convention how wonderful he would be in any position in the Obama campaign. But after going to the SD reception last night I decided he is way too important to have in our U.S. Senate.

Joe Biden was good as well. It is just tough to follow Bill Clinton. His life story was wonderful and I learned many things about him. He is a fantastic addition to the ticket and will a perfect 1, 2 punch to hit the campaign trail. His populist message should resonate with the blue collar workers that Obama cannot reach.
I will finish the journal off on Saturday morning as we will be leaving from Denver on Friday.
