Where Do the Cougars Lie in Wait in South Dakota?
I want to talk about stalking cougars in South Dakota for a minute.
No, not in the way that my young Republican friend Pat Powers over at the South Dakota War Junior College obsesses about our large, furry, feline friends in the Black Hills (and sometimes beyond).
No, I’m talking about cougars as in single women in their 30s-50s on the prowl for rich guys. (That obviously puts me out on two counts: A. Married. B. Not remotely rich.)
They are portrayed on TV by the likes of Kim Cattrell of Sex and the City.
One of my Kansas blogging colleagues recently had an interesting post about all the cougar lairs in Johnson County, Kansas. Which made me think, where do the South Dakota cougars lie (lay?) in wait for their unsuspecting quarry?

How about considering the other side. Do you think guys are out there to see "what they can get". If not, think again.

Oh Todd...you silly man. Cougars aren't looking for rich men. They are looking for rich sex!
Yes, the Samantha Jones character on Sex AND The City (not Sex IN The City) was a cougar. But, she was a high powered, successful business woman with plenty of her own hard earned money. She just wanted a hot looking man for the late night booty call. Marriage or money was never on her radar screen.
As for where the elusive SD cougar stalks her prey, I think it might be at any given church on Sunday.
A "cougar" is NOT a 30-50 yr. old woman looking for rich men... she is a 30-50 year old woman looking for YOUNGER men.... Don't you watch SNL?
The not-so-elusive cougar can be found waiting tables or hosting at your local country club or upscale restaurant, where they don't necessarily compete with their young female co-workers who are looking for rich older guys.
The younger women are looking primarily for money and are willing to settle for 2-minute sex with chubby hairy old dudes (and young boyfriends on the side).
The cougars are looking primarily for Mrs. Robinson-like flings with their young co-workers' willing boyfriends. Everybody wins!
