If It's Good Enough for John Edwards It's Good Enough for Sarah Palin

The National Enquirer reports today (damn, it’s hard for me to write those words), that Gov. Sarah Palin tried to keep daughter Bristol’s pregnancy a secret until her daughter and her daughter’s babydaddy were married after the GOP convention.
An excerpt:
Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin attempted to quietly have her daughter Bristol get married before news of her pregnancy leaked out, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER is reporting exclusively in its new issue.Palin planned for the wedding to take place right after the Republican National Convention and then she was going to announce the pregnancy….
And no whining about it being the National Enquirer, my young Republican friends. You took their reporting and ran when they broke the John Edwards affair.

Um, I'm not a Republican, so I get to say, "THE NATIONAL *&^%$# ENQUIRER, EPP?!?! WTF?"
But, that aside, it will be all over the Times, Washington Post, CNN, etc. tomorrow.
Just like Edwards.
When will all of this be over?
My prediction was that she'd be off the ticket by the end of the week.
Did I mean the business week or calendar week? Hmmm...a little over an hour for the business week and 2 days for the calendar week.
Let me make a "re-prediction".
I say she's off by the end of this month.
While scratching in the dirt, Enquirer may also have found indications of hanky panky in documents from a divorce suit with court records somebody is trying to close..but possibly for other reasons than the worst..
Stay tuned. Sarah Palin is the female Spiro T. Agnew.
I look at it like this if, as I have heard they were planning on getting married before Bristol got pregnant, why didn't they do it instead of waiting until almost the due date? I also don't think it is necessarily the best solution to an unwed pregnancy to have the "good, old fashioned shotgun" wedding. Been there, done that. This was the result of a date rape, which back then there wasn't any such thing. Was married for 20 years of verbal abuse.
Anymore it isn't any real big disgrace to be an unwed mother, like it was back in the early 60s, and before.
More tidbits as to McCain's pick:

Mean, nasty, vindictive, racist .... whatta gal. Lawyered up now so her little troopergate/abuse of power stuff will get taken care of. Fits in perfect with how things have been managed and covered up the past 8 years. She, Bush, Cheney, McCain... change? Ha! Oh, and now she's untouchable and not allowed to be interviewed!!!!! Unbelievable. Afraid what would come out of her mouth if it wasn't written by a GOP speechwriter?
Might I also ask why the bonehead GOP candidates can't even ask permission from artists for music? Latest music victim is "Heart". (VanHalen also asking these guys to quit using their music.) Can these guys not understand intellectual property? Is it just assumption of "entitlement"like the past 8 years? Invade a country, use some music... take and grab -- entitlement. Wear $300,000 dollar outfits while unemployment is up, people are desperate for affordable health care?
Todd,
John Edwards is a GROWN UP--a married GROWN UP who cheated on his wife with terminal cancer.
Bristol is a teen-ager and you should respect her privacy--and if you had any manners you would.
How is your nose feeling after having all that coffee snorted through it?? And is your tummy feeling better now after your Pepto Bismol?
Maybe you could borrow some of Pat tools and do something constructive today.
Mom, her privacy? They paraded the girl across stage in front of MILLIONS of viewers! Palin is a neo-conservative christian do-gooder who swore abstinence programs for all, and her own kid is pregnant AND she tried to cover it up!
Please! She wants to be second in charge of the most influential country in the free world and she hides something Republicans are now saying makes her "just like any family with troubles?" Oh my gosh! You can dang well bet that if it were one of Obama's kids pregnant they'd be all over it like jelly on rye bread! Also makes me wonder what else she's hiding! I'm not sure McCain will bump her (he'd lose for certain then, having proven his incompetence in choosing a running mate), but I think there will be enough uncovered in the next few weeks that he'll regret the decision; it probably lost him the election.
Todd, weren't you inspired by the huge still of Walter Reed Middle School of North Hollywood CA, on the screen behind McAncient? No doubt they meant to have WR hospital shown. McPain did stop just short of saying he'd start a school voucher program which I'm sure made Sibby's ponytail stand straight up.
P.S. apparently Gov. hottie was enrolled at six, not three colleges, which should make her six times smarter during the search for "Moose and Squirrel."
Roxanne,
Remember--we won't EVER know if Obama's girls were unexpectedly pregant because he says that he wouldn't "punish them with a child". There would be no discussion because his grandchild would be in a medical waste bin.
When I Introduce my family I don't say "this is Jane and she is pregnant" even when I am parading them on a stage.
You all are just meanspirited, vindictive, and looking for anyway you can to discredit the future first female President of the United States of America!
For any of you Moms out there against choice for religious reasons -- mammalian pregnancy is complicated. On average, one in every three fertilized eggs are rejected by the body, and the mother doesn't know it. The possible foetus is thrown away with the menstrual flow. If you've had three children, the numerical likelihood is that one of your children, by your own definitions, is in a landfill.
Remember the history of religion and women's pregnancy: at one time, girls who got pregnant lost their future, and their children were called "bastards" and "illegitimate" for religious reasons. Wealthy religious families could -- and did -- secrete pregnant girls away and have their pregnancies aborted, rather than facing religious damnation.
Now, when women and girls are offered control over their own bodies, the religious side, desperate to still control them, pretends to love their unborn children.
It's about controlling how women breed -- it's all the religious right cares about.
Dood,
How silly that you would call that the history of religion.
What you site is the history of family dynasties and inheritance. The system was set up so that any young woman who was pregnant and unmarried would have a child that did not have anyone to support it. MEN did not want their fortunes to go to a child that was not their own flesh and blood! A young lady unfortunate enough to be left alone in the company of an (intoxicated) man might well be raped hence the careful use of chaperones. The term bastard was not religous in nature but legal in nature--it meant that you could not INHERIT. (It was all about men, their selfishness, their fortunes, and their pleasure above their responsibilities--oh yeah just like today!)
Today in the USA we created welfare to counteract this barbaric system but it has been horribly abused so that now many couples do not marry because the welfare benefits are better.
Today in the Islamic countries the “bloodlines” are still carefully controlled which is why a raped woman may be hanged, stoned, or beheaded.

Listen, Betty Crocker, if you don't like what you read here, you are free to not visit this blog. Okay?
You are also free to skip my comments and not read them--the knife cuts both ways.
I am simply telling the truth.
It would be better if both sides of the debate learned to express themselves kindly and with manners. No matter how strongly you feel about the issue.
You're not debating, Mom. You're being a condescending, holier than thou ... mom. You're either a gin-soaked old croan with too much time on your hands or a watered down version of Bree from Desperate Housewives. Now run along and bake some muffins or something.
Toonces,
It is time to grow up now and quit using name calling to make yourself feel better about yourself.
I am asking for manners--here and in everyday life--there is nothing condecending about that. It is asking grown ups to act like grown ups.
It is also American to allow a differing point of view without inviting the other viewpoint to go elsewhere. Remember Democrats like to think of themselves as the tolerant ones. So are you tolerant and willing to consider a sensible point of view or do you move directly to name calling?
Oh, look at Mom being all high and mighty. Or are you being mighty while you're high?
So that would be directly to name calling then.
How childish.
How do you get name calling out of "mighty" and "high"? Those are terms. How dumb of you. :)
