Breaking: Another Longtime KSFY Journalist Leaves
Lisa May, executive producer at KSFY-TV, has left.
I had the pleasure of working with Lisa when I was executive producer at KSFY. She is a woman of great integrity, hard work, and outstanding news judgment. She's also been at KSFY for over 20 years. Many a young journalist has learned how to be a good journalist from Lisa's mentorship through the years.
This is another terrible loss for KSFY. With Lisa goes two decades of institutional knowledge about South Dakota, Aberdeen, Sioux Falls, a host of issues, and broadcasting experience. She's also a class act and represents all the good things about the journalism profession--dedication, fairness, accuracy, and teamwork.
I hope Lisa lands on her feet soon and makes a lot more money. Any organization would be lucky to have her on their team.
And to those who remain at KSFY, my condolences. I can't believe anyone who works in that newsroom looks at "Wheel of Felons" and says, "Damn, that's why I went to journalism school."
Lisa, good luck and thanks for all you did for KSFY and its viewers these many years.
