Angie Buhl Is in the House!
![]()
Angie Buhl, USD student, Democratic and social justice activist, fellow Yanktonian, nice young lady, and new SDW blogger. It is my great pleasure to announce that Angie Buhl, a fellow Yanktonian and Democrat, will be a regular contributor to SDW.
I have worked with Angie with South Dakotans Against Discrimination and Equality South Dakota. She was the Yankton/Vermillion coordinator for SDAD in the campaign against passage of the so-called gay marriage amendment last fall. She did an outstanding job. She is a young woman who knows how to get stuff done. She also serves on the EqSD board with me as a founding board member.
Besides being a Yankton homey, Angie is what she calls a “senior plus,” studying psychology at the University of South Dakota, where she is active in the USD Democrats. She received prestigious fellowships this summer at Young People For, a program of People for the American Way and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. She’s also been involved in the Stonewall Democrats and worked on Sen. Tim Johnson’s 2002 Senatorial campaign.
At the tender age of 22, she has already accomplished a great deal for social justice and the Democratic Party in our state. She is a wonderfully upbeat and pleasant young woman with a great sense of humor. I think you will enjoy her postings and her unique perspective on our state, our politics, and her experiences.
Please welcome Angie Buhl to the house!
