Meet Police Chief Sarah "Marge Gunderson" Palin!
From the genius of Blind Orange Julius, used with permission:

Police Chief Palin is a real pit pull when it comes to the bad guys there, don’t you know!
New McCain/Palin Bumper Sticker Unveiled!

And, we can thank (or blame) the internets for their inspired humor. This note from Bonny:
Occasionally we use yahoo to chat back and forth… somehow in the conversation yesterday talking about Palin, I mentioned being scared of her… he said “as long as your not a moose you have nothing to worry about” then we both went off on the tangent together and the idea was born.
Great stuff and thanks!

Folkerts’ Funny Phenomenal FourI’m not particularly a fan of Jason Folkerts, the Argus Leader’s freelance cartoonist.
I don’t think he particularly understands S.D. politics or our local issues, he comes from an extreme Rightwing perspective, I often don’t recognize the “famous” local people in his drawings, and I don’t think he’s funny very often. I also think his drawings are entirely too busy. I’m more of a Tom Toles or Gary Larson kind of guy. Less is often more editorial cartoons.
Personally, I think local political photo cartoonists SouthDakotaMac and BOJ News Service are far more insightful and funnier about state and local politics—and they give it away for free. They have an edge. Jason hasn’t found his yet. And as Fox Sports’ Terry Bradshaw would say, “Not funnah.”
But Jason shoots and scores with his Phenomenal Four cartoon about Rep. Roger Hunt, Sen. Scott Heidepriem, Sen. Dan Sutton, and Sioux Falls P.R. flack Jodi Schwan. Nails it. It’s good stuff.
Maybe he’s turned a creative corner. I hope so. I really think a good political cartoonist adds a lot to an editorial page. And at least the Argus has a local political cartoonist, which is a lot more than a lot other papers its size can say.
