RCJ's C-Cal Flacks for Dusty

Celeste Calvitto ("C-Cal"), the Rapid City Journal's new political reporter, writes today in her column that GOP PUC Commissioner Dusty Johnson is some sort of force of nature when it comes to regulatory affairs.

Her source?  Fellow GOP PUC Commissioner Bob Sahr.

An excerpt:

"Dusty is too modest to mention it, but he just took office in January and in February was picked to head a national effort to oppose a federal budget proposal that would raise electric power rates," Sahr said. "That really says a lot about an up-and-coming 20-something PUC commissioner. He's hit the ground running."

Perhaps Dusty can also jump tall buildings in a single bound as well.  Just ask Bob Sahr.

I have emailed C-Cal and told her that in my opinion, this is bad sourcing.  If an out of state PUC commissioner, even a Republican one, said the Dustmeister was a young, up and coming utility wonk, then I might start to believe it.  But asking the Dustinator's buddy Bobby Sahr for an unbiased view of the youngster? Nah.

C-Cal, you bought the GOP line and it looks like they didn't even have to sell it very hard.  You got spun!
